Published 2012. Features "Quagmire," the opening chapter in the first Danab Cycle story I tackled writing, never finished, later reimagined in "Darkness Falls on a Dark Land."
Published 2013. Features "Seventy-One and Counting," a flash fiction concerning the Calamity, otherwise known as the Danab War, when the Danab returned to Earth.
Published 2017. Novella prequel to Collider, also featuring "Use Both Hands," another glimpse at the Calamity, and "The Monastery at Burnside," a prequel to Seven Thunders.
Published 2021. Features "Darkness Falls on a Dark Land," an overview of the overall mythology of the Danab Cycle; "Warship," a glimpse at humanity's early experiences in the Space Corps; "One Size Fits All," a glimpse at the Danab homeworld; "Priority I.D.," another prequel to Seven Thunders; "Who Killed Iron Joe?," another prequel to Seven Thunders; "Rue the Day," a kind of Q story, the clearest look at the Danab Cycle's origins as a Star Trek pastiche; and "BOLO!," set in the present day.
Published 2024. These Christmas collections are mostly for family, but this edition features "One Size Fits Most," a surprising connective tissue between human and Danab culture.
Published 2025. Features "Soldiers of Ancient Seas," another tale set in current times.
Published 2017. Features an alternate take on "Rue the Day," the revised version after the editor and his father requested something different than the story that appears in Danab Cycle.
Published 2013 by Exter Press. Features "The Cuban Exile Crisis," another look at the Calamity.
